A Typical Day

A Day At ABC
A typical day at our nursery is carefully structured to feel calm, engaging, and full of opportunities for discovery. From the moment children arrive, they are warmly welcomed into a relaxed breakfast club where they can enjoy a healthy buffet with plenty of choice. This gentle start to the day allows children to settle in, chat with friends, and build confidence as they make their own choices.

Morning Exploration
As the morning begins, children move into their rooms, with our older groups in the Investigators and Inventors heading outdoors to explore and begin their learning in the fresh air. Throughout the morning, children are immersed in a rich blend of free play and thoughtfully planned activities, both indoors and outdoors. Whether they are exploring the garden, taking part in small group carpet times, or engaging in hands-on experiences, every moment is designed to spark curiosity and build on what they already know.

Growing Independence
Older children are encouraged to be independent, choosing their own snacks, pouring drinks, and following their interests, while being gently supported by caring staff who nurture their confidence and social skills. Singing, storytelling, and shared discussions help children feel part of a community, while also developing their communication and understanding of the world around them.

Afternoons & Wind-Down
As the day continues, children come together to enjoy mealtimes, restful quiet or sleep periods for the Adventurers and Investigators, and more opportunities for play and exploration in the afternoon. There is a strong balance between active learning and calm, comforting routines, ensuring children feel secure and happy throughout the day. The afternoon brings further chances for creativity, outdoor adventures, and group activities, followed by cosy story or singing times. As children are gradually collected, the day winds down with relaxed play, puzzles, and stories, ending the day just as it began, in a warm, caring environment where every child feels valued and at home.
