Our Nursery
Established in 1994 and part of the Devon Nurseries family since 2007, ABC Nursery in Exmouth has been lovingly supporting children and families for many years. We pride ourselves on creating a caring, comforting environment where every child feels safe, secure and truly valued. We are truly a home from home. Our days are filled with simple, meaningful moments; children curled up with a book on a team member’s lap, celebrating achievements with a big hug, and building trusting relationships that help them feel confident and happy.
We believe that children thrive when they feel emotionally secure. That’s why nurturing strong bonds is at the heart of everything we do. Our experienced team creates a calm, supportive space where children can explore, learn and grow at their own pace, knowing they are safe and cared for.
Exmouth Nursery
Our wonderful location near the coast offers children regular opportunities to enjoy fresh air and explore the local environment. From gentle walks around the town to visits to the beach, we embrace the natural beauty of Exmouth to enrich children’s experiences and spark their curiosity.

ABC Nursery is open Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm, welcoming children from 3 months to 5 years old.

Lisa Haar
ABC Nursery Manager
Lisa has worked in Early Years for over 30 years, building a long and rewarding career that began in nursery settings and progressed to running her own pre-school. She later moved into a childcare development role, supporting 54 day nurseries across Harrow in the London Borough of Hillingdon. She is deeply passionate about the care and education of young children. As a parent herself, she understands the importance of trust when leaving a child in someone else’s care. She prioritises creating a safe, secure environment not only for children, but also for their parents and carers. Lisa is the Pied Piper at ABC, always found surrounded by happy children seeking hugs, songs or a big wave!
Beth Cameron
Deputy Manager
Beth joined ABC Nursery in 2013 and has been leading the Adventurers Room for many years. She has recently taken on the role as Deputy Manager. Beth is also a mum herself and understands how important it is to provide a warm and safe space for little ones. Beth is passionate about early years education and has a wealth of experience working with babies and toddlers. She supports Lisa and the ABC team to provide high quality child care and education
Emily Daly
Acting Deputy & Department Lead
Emily joined ABC in 2018 and quickly fell in love with the nursery’s warm, welcoming, and home-like atmosphere. During her time at ABC, she has gained valuable experience working across all three rooms before finding her place in the Inventors’ Room. Emily is grateful for the opportunities she has been given to develop her career, progressing from Room Leader to Deputy Manager (Maternity Cover). Her passion for working with children began at a young age, and she fondly recalls wanting to help children and learn everyone’s names when she was at preschool herself. She is proud to have turned those childhood aspirations into a rewarding career.
Lissy Lee
Department Lead
Lissy joined ABC in 2021 and has enjoyed gaining experience across the different departments during her time with the nursery. Through her hard work and dedication, she progressed to become Department Lead in the Adventurers Room. Lissy is passionate about her role and loves building positive relationships with the children, supporting their learning, and watching them grow in confidence and develop new skills. She finds it incredibly rewarding to be part of each child’s early years journey and feels privileged to play a role in their development. Her caring nature, enthusiasm, and commitment to helping every child thrive make her a valued member of the ABC team.
Emily Haar
Department Lead
Emily has worked at ABC Nursery for five years, during which time she completed her Level 2 and Level 3 childcare apprenticeships. She is committed to continually improving her practice and seeks out new ways to develop her skills. Gaining experience across all rooms and age groups, and during her apprenticeship, completed placements in our group’s sister nurseries to broaden her knowledge and bring in new ideas.

At ABC Day Nursery, our spaces are thoughtfully designed to create a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, secure and inspired to explore. Each area has been carefully planned to support children’s development while maintaining our home-from-home feel.

We are proud to have been rated Good by Ofsted in our most recent inspection (December 2024), reflecting the high-quality care, education and nurturing environment we provide for every child.
